CPaaS stands for Communication Platform as a Service.

CPaaS vendors are vendors who offer their customers the ability to add communication capabilities into the customer’s applications. These tend to be related to voice and SMS, but in many cases includes WebRTC components and features.

By using a CPaaS vendor, companies need not invest in their own WebRTC infrastructure (this includes STUN and TURN servers as well as signaling and media servers).
